What determines body part fitment
Two panels that look identical can differ by centimeters, so exact matching is the rule here. Before buying, compare:
- Production years and the facelift point - bumpers, grilles and lights often change mid-generation
- Body style - sedans, wagons and hatchbacks use different rear panels
- Mounting points and brackets - check they are intact in the photos
- The factory part number or VIN - the surest way for the seller to confirm fitment
Color and repainting
A used panel normally comes in the donor car's color, so an exact match to yours is unlikely - repainting is standard practice in this category. If you want to keep your original paint, search by your color code and compare photos in daylight. New aftermarket panels often ship in primer, ready for paint.
New or used
For metal panels - hood, fender, door - a used original is often the sensible pick: the factory geometry and metal stay as built.
