Converting to gas - what to know before installation

LPG or CNG
The choice is between two systems. An LPG tank is more compact and filling stations are more common; a CNG system uses heavy high-pressure cylinders and takes more of the trunk. Which one suits your mileage and routes is the first question to discuss with the installer.
What installation includes
The full job is more than mounting a tank: installation is followed by system setup and tuning so the engine runs correctly on both fuels. The petrol system stays functional - the car starts on petrol and switches back to it when needed. Before committing, ask the installer which generation of equipment they fit and why it suits your engine, what documents come with the installation, whether tuning and the first check-up are included, and how often the gas filters should be changed.
Maintenance after installation
A gas system has its own service rhythm: filter changes, injector checks, tightness control of the tank and lines. Neglecting it shows up first as higher consumption, then as rough running. A good installer will tell you at handover when to come for the first inspection.
