Ordering a part from abroad - when and how
Some parts simply are not in the local listings - a rare model, a brand-new generation or a unit that cannot be bought used. That is where ordering services come in: they find the part on the American, European, Japanese, Emirati, Russian or Chinese markets and bring it over. Each region has its strength - the US market stands out for American cars, Japan for right-hand-drive and hybrid models, China for analogs and EV components.
What to give the orderer so the exact part arrives
The success of an order depends on complete information:
- The VIN - with it the orderer sees your exact configuration in the factory catalog
- The factory part number, if readable on the old part - the most precise reference
- Photos of the old part from several angles, markings included
- The position - front or rear, left or right, and with which engine
Original, analog or used
An order can target all three: a new original by factory number, a certified analog, or a used part from a dismantled car. Each has its logic - for ignition and safety components new is better, while for body elements a used original is a perfectly working route. Ask the orderer directly about alternatives - a good service offers several options by price and timing.
Timing and terms - in advance and in writing
Ordering from abroad takes time, so agree the deadline, the prepayment share and the return terms on the first call and fix them in writing. A conscientious orderer will volunteer tracking and stage updates - that transparency is a good sign of reliability.
